In Luke Chapter 9, Jesus settles an argument amongst the disciples by demonstrating love to a little child. In verse 48, Jesus says to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.”
Jesus sees the value in children and so does Woodlawn. Through a variety of children's programming, children ages birth to 5th grade can learn about God's love in a safe, nurturing, and creative environment. All volunteers are trained and have background checks performed before working with the children.
Woodlawn uses a Check-In System to create a secure environment for all of our children.
A nursery is provided for children from birth to 23 months.
Prescoolers are divided into two age groups where they have a structured time of play and a Bible lesson. They also have a special puppet show and worship time during the 11:00 hour.
Grades K-5 meet together in a large group for the main Bible lesson, skits, games, worship, communion, etc. from 9:30 to 10:50. At 10:50, the children attend small group Sunday School until the end of the service. They are divided up into the following small groups:
